AI Art Consultant

What is the AI art consultant?

The AI consultant is a research tool built into every listing on Meridian's. You can ask it about an artist's biography, career history, auction records, historical context, and what due diligence to conduct before buying. It answers instantly, based on publicly available information.

Is it free to use?

Free accounts get 3 questions per listing. The Collector plan ($20/month) gives you unlimited questions on every listing across the platform.

How accurate is it?

The AI draws on publicly available sources — auction databases, exhibition records, biographical archives. It is highly reliable for factual, verifiable information. For critical decisions, we recommend cross-referencing with a specialist or licensed appraiser.

Can it tell me if a work is authentic?

No. The AI consultant cannot authenticate artworks, assess physical condition, or provide valuations. For authentication, contact the relevant artist's estate, catalogue raisonné, or a recognised authentication body.

Can it advise me on whether to buy?

+

No. The consultant provides research and context only — it will not recommend buying or selling, or suggest what price to offer. Those decisions remain yours.

Does my question history save between visits?

Not currently. Each listing page starts a fresh conversation. We're working on conversation history for logged-in Collector plan members.

Buying & Collecting

How do I enquire about a work?

Open any listing and use the Inquire form to send a message directly to the artist or gallery. All communication happens on Meridian's — no third-party email is required.

Can I make an offer below the asking price?

Yes. Use the Submit an Offer form on any listing. The seller will receive your offer and can accept, decline, or counter. Meridian's is not a party to the negotiation.

Does Meridian's handle payment or shipping?

Not at this time. Once a sale is agreed between buyer and seller, payment and delivery are arranged directly between the parties. We recommend discussing logistics and payment method with the seller before committing.

How do I save works I'm interested in?

Log in and use the wishlist button (♡) on any listing. Saved works appear in your account under Saved Works.

What if a work I want is marked as sold?

Contact the gallery directly — they may have similar works available that haven't been listed yet. You can find their contact details on their gallery profile page.

Selling & Listing

How do I list a work?

+

Create a seller account, complete your gallery profile, then use the List a Work page to submit your artwork. Every listing is reviewed by our team before going live, typically within 1–2 business days.

What is the review process?

+

Our team reviews every submission for completeness, appropriate content, and accurate categorisation. We may request additional information or images. Approval does not constitute authentication or endorsement.

How many works can I list?

Free accounts can list up to 3 active works. The Gallery plan ($50/month) supports unlimited listings. See our Pricing page for full details.

What commission does Meridian's take?

+

Meridian's currently charges no commission on sales. The price you set is the price the buyer pays. We may introduce an optional facilitation fee in the future with advance notice.

Can I edit or remove a listing?

Yes. Log in to your seller dashboard to edit details, update images, mark a work as sold, or remove a listing at any time.

What is a Featured listing?

Featured works appear at the top of the homepage and browse page, above all standard listings. Featured placement is available through our sales team — contact sales@meridian.art for details and pricing.

Account & Billing

How do I create an account?

Click Register in the top navigation. You can sign up as a buyer (Collector) or as a seller (Artist or Gallery). You'll receive a verification email before your account is fully activated.

I didn't receive my verification email.

+

Check your spam or junk folder first. If it's not there, sign in and use the Resend Verification option from your account banner. If you're still having trouble, contact us at support@meridian.art.

When do paid plans start billing?

+

Paid plans are not yet live. All features are currently available free while we build out our payment infrastructure. You will receive advance notice by email before any charges begin.

Can I cancel my plan?

Yes. Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time from your account settings. There are no contracts or cancellation fees.

How do I reset my password?

+

Use the Forgot Password link on the sign-in page. You'll receive an email with a reset link valid for 24 hours.
